As part of Memories of the Future, our analogue meets digital pop-up project, we will be creating a mini-cinema in the project space. This will exhibit an ongoing show-reel of shorts made by independent practitioners & organisations. We are running an open call for submissions until the 31st August. Please consider the following –

  • We are looking for film, moving image & video art
  • Very short shorts (under 5 mins) are ideal, but we will consider anything under 30 mins for selection
  • We will consider material made for promotional purposes such as music videos
  • We will accept fiction, non-fiction & animation or any mixture of these. Experiments are welcome but we will decide on suitability according to our target audiences
  • Other aspects of the pop-up concern photography, music, literature, games & narrative story-telling, so shorts which experiment with or compliment these are of particular interest
  • Out theme is analogue meets digital, so experiments with old or new formats are particularly welcome
  • Entries must be suitable for a 16+ audience, so no excessive nudity or graphic violence, please (hammer-style horror/violence is fine)
  • Please ensure your film doesn’t contain any footage or music you do not have copyright clearance for
  • Submissions must either be in Mpeg4 or AVI format, or if they are already viewable on the internet, please send us a link for now
  • Where suitable we will also promote participating filmmakers through the website & social media forums
  • Please include a brief bio, your contact details & any internet profiles (vimeo, you tube, blogs etc.) in your submission email. You must be 16+ to enter
  • You must be a resident or former resident of the UK to be considered, but we will accept foreign language films with subtitles
  • We primarily want to support regional UK talent (creative communities outside London) but everything will be considered
