Like what we do? Why not hire us…
We’re social entrepreneurs who balance practical business knowledge with dynamic creative thinking. We feel community arts should not mean poor design, editing and production. We offer various specialised services, but also work with a bank of local freelancers, so if you’re looking for something we don’t offer, just drop us an email to inquire… firstname.lastname@example.org
We’re based in Nottingham, UK, but also work remotely.
║ Copywriting & Communications ║
Kirsty is an experienced blogger, copywriter, and communications manager. She has managed various social media campaigns including a successful crowdfunding project. She has written copy and blogged for micro-businesses, social enterprises and national corporate brands. She is familiar with using keywords and other SEO requirements but believes good online marketing is more than just ‘paint by numbers’ and that understanding of brand and target audience is key.
“Kirsty’s attention to detail, ability to work to brief, and research skills make her a talented copywriter: but it is her understanding of the tone of voice required for each project that really makes her stand out. I look forward to working with her again.” – JIM ALEXANDER, WRITING BUG
║ Business Coaching & Mentoring ║
Kirsty is an experienced business coach and mentor. She has been working with small businesses, creative practitioners, students and graduates for 5 years, offering advice, guidance, and sign-posting. With her background as a creative producer and communications manager, she has a great 360° view of project development, marketing, and sustainable business planning.
“It was such a relief, after having an idea and the rush of energy to start a new business, that I could book time with Kirsty to sit down and get my ideas straight. I had a lot of questions and wasn’t sure how to begin, but Kirsty offered loads of suggestions, put me in contact with relevant people and helped me to understand my next steps. I have peace of mind knowing that I’m on the right track, and am able to crack on with realistic tasks.” – HOLLY JAMES, GOOD WOOL PROJECT
║ Graphic Design & Illustration ║
Dan is a multi-disciplined graphic designer and illustrator. He studied Graphic Design at Coventry University, and it was there that he discovered his love for visual communication. He specialises in digital design for both print and screen applications, incorporating a minimal yet expressive approach. With each project, he looks for an opportunity to do some amazing work that connects with the intended audience and tries, wherever possible, to create something that will resonate on more than just a visual level.
“Working with Dan is a pleasure. He will listen with care, then offer back to you much more than you expect. Almost without instruction, Dan gave us everything we needed and more. We will definitely use him for the next project.” – ANDREW KING, NOTTINGHAM & DERBY SOCIETY OF ARCHITECTS
“Dan ‘got’ us from the start: who we are, what we do, who we do it for. And he created a brand that conveys that perfectly to the world. Without Dan’s work, Writing Bug would simply be a company that provides writing and editorial services. Thanks to Dan’s branding, we’re now a unified, recognisable business with a visual personality that positions us exactly how we wanted. I can’t recommend him highly enough—this guy is a real talent.” – JIM ALEXANDER, WRITING BUG
Other services: book & magazine layouts and formatting, soundtracks, digital photography, analogue photography, videography, business plan writing, copy editing, and consultancy.
